- Melbourne: Julia (Clara Francesca Pagone), a New York based artist,
goes back to Australia for the holidays to tell her parents she has
married an art critic in Vegas - which drives them up the walls, and
she has only her best friend Henri (Frank Fazio) for moral support -
who might have some unresolved feelings for her, and vice versa ...
- Malta: Anna (Naomi Said) and Manny (Chris Dingli) have been together
for nine years, and married last year, and now everybody in her family
expects her to have a baby, and so does Manny - but Anna just doesn't
feel ready yet, even if that might endanger all the bliss she has ...
- Berlin: Young students Rosalie (Sarah Timm) and Milana (Kelsey
Gillis) are madly in love, and their relationship is of a very sexual
nature - but they also have problems making ends meet, and while
Rosalie works as a waitress at a bar, Milana is a cam girl - much to
Rosalie's dismay as she feels she has to share her with the whole
world. But their relationship is really put to the test when Milana's
offered a lot of money by one of her regulars to spend a week with him
in person - and she says yes ...
- New York: Julia has returned to town from Melbourne (see story
number 1) and confesses to her boyfriend Patrick (Timothy McCown
Reynolds) that she has had sex with Henri, if only once, and even
though Patrick forgives her or pretends to forgive her, that puts a
strain on their relationship ...
In Corpore is a very interesting anthology about love and sex in
this day and age, and one that keeps you thinking as it doesn't try to
hammer home any message or give any definite answers, it just explores any
number of subtopics under above-mentioned header, from fidelity to having
children, from open relationships to basing one's relationship on sex, in
stories that don't shy away from showing things but stay clear of
spectacle and thus feel very real. And of course, grounded performances by
the rather international ensemble also help to make this a movie that will
remain with you (in a good if thought-provoking way) for quite a few days.
